This animation was inspired by the television show Petticoat Junction. When building an open top water tank, I knew I would have the girls included.

This simple animation is driven by a ‘stall type’ turnout motor. Timing of the girls movement is controlled by a 555 timer chip. The girl dolls (small barbies?) were already hinged at the arms. So I glued a piece of brass tubing to their hands, and placed that over the brass wire ‘bar’. The lever from the turnout motor is glued to the bottom of one foot on each girl. The hardest part of this animation was adjusting the levers and wires to get it to operate smoothly.
